~The Starbots FIRST LEGO League team~

The Starbots FIRST LEGO League team, made up of mostly Charter Oak students, had a blast competing at the Los Angeles Regional Championship on Sunday, December 11.

Approximately 47 teams were there, and of those teams, only 12-15 receive any kind of award. Most of the students there were 7th and 8th graders (while ours is made up of 3-6th graders). Only one team is chosen to go on to the World's competition. Our team did not win a trophy or go on to the next level, but we definitely won because we learned so very much and had a ton of fun doing it.

Starbots had some difficulty with their robot, but the judging sessions went quite well. Their project scores were particularly high, and we believe that when the judges were discussing teams to be given the 3 project awards that our team was in the discussion.

We are excited to take a break and have some fun in the off season, and are looking forward to next year's challenge, whose theme is Hydro Dynamics (which will explore the location, use, storage and movement of water).

Thank you all for your support of these amazing kids!
