Daniel and Katrina Van Nostrand

From the first time we sat down in David’s restaurant all those years ago, he made us feel like family. By the time we were done eating (and eating, and eating...) his incredible food and chatting with David and his friendly staff, we had a new favorite place.

Over the years, we got more involved in helping David and Nina find a place where they could create their dream restaurant.

Whether it’s through marketing, small business funding, or just holding stuff up in front of a wall so David can see what it looks like, we’re committed to sharing the great dining experience we had with as many people as possible.

At Gabacho, we’re hoping the people of Glendora feel the same way we did when David first welcomed us into his restaurant.

Chef David's Story

My journey in culinary arts and entrepreneurship began with watching my mother cook and sell her homemade meals at the University of Guatemala in Guatemala City. Her dedication and passion planted the seeds of my love of food.

In 2005, I became a cook at a French restaurant, where I spent a decade refining my skills, deepening my appreciation for hospitality, and learning the discipline of fine cuisine. With years of experience and the support of my wife, whose background in business administration strengthened our vision, we were determined to create something of our own.
